Uninstalling VCB Using Add/Remove Programs Hangs (2141)

Details

I'm uninstalling VMware Consolidate Backup (VCB). The process hangs at around 90 percent completion. What's wrong?

Solution

Uninstalling VCB through Add/Remove Programs can sometimes result in the uninstall process hanging at about 90 percent completion.

If this happens, end the uninstall process (msiexec) using Task Manager. Even though you terminate the process at 90 percent completion, all VCB files are deleted and the VCB entry in Add/Remove Programs is removed.
