Adding more than 16 hosts to a Virtual SAN cluster (2073930)

Details

You can create a new Virtual SAN cluster with 16 or more hosts.

Solution

To create a Virtual SAN cluster with more than 16 hosts, perform the following steps:
  1. Run the esxcli system settings advanced list -o /CMMDS/goto11 command to check the existing configuration.
  2. Run the esxcli system settings advanced set -o /CMMDS/goto11 -i 1 command on all hosts, including the existing hosts in the Virtual SAN Cluster. For example, when adding 4 hosts to an existing 16-host cluster, you must run the command on all 20 hosts.
  3. Restart the hosts.
