Adding more than 16 hosts to a Virtual SAN cluster (2073930)

Details

You can create a new Virtual SAN (VSAN) cluster with 16 or more hosts.

Solution

To create a Virtual SAN cluster with more than 16 hosts, run these commands:

To check the existing configuration:
esxcli system settings advanced list -o /CMMDS/goto11
To set:
esxcli system settings advanced set -o /CMMDS/goto11 -i 1
Run the command above on all the hosts when you add hosts to an existing 16-host Virtual SAN Cluster. Reboot is required.

For example, you must run the command above on all 20 hosts when you add 4 more hosts to an existing 16-host cluster.
