Uploading ISOs or OVFs in VMware vCloud Hybrid Service (2051265)

Symptoms

  • Uploading ISOs into the vCloud Director catalog fails
  • Uploading OVFs into the vCloud Director catalog fails

Purpose

This article provides guidelines for uploading ISOs or OVFs in VMware vCloud Hybrid Service.

Resolution

Before beginning the upload, ensure that system being used to upload the content:
  • Has the latest version of Java is installed
  • Is using a supported browser to access the VMware vCloud Director interface and upload dialog

Note: For information on supported browsers, see Browsers That vCloud Director Supports in the VMware vCloud Director Installation and Upgrade Guide.

During the upload process, the session between the browser and vCloud Director needs to remain alive or active, otherwise the download fails. Keeping a session alive requires that the vCloud Director windows remain open, as well as possibly undertaking user actions such as refreshing the view or manipulating items within the interface. For longer uploads and larger amounts of data, this requires consistent user attention until the upload is complete.
