Reset and Restart Options Do Not Work with NetWare5 and NetWare6.5 Guest Operating Systems

Details

I installed the NetWare guest operating system, and I'm trying to reset my virtual machine using the vmware-cmd <VMXfile> reset command. The command doesn't work, and neither does the Restart Guest option from the virtual machine menu.

Solution

To reset the virtual machine after installing NetWare 5 or NetWare 6.5 guest operating systems, use the following command:

vmware-cmd <VMXfile> reset hard

To restart the guest operating system, use the NetWare restart server command.
