VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager 5.x planned migration with NFS datastores fails (2045745)

Symptoms

During a planned migration in Site Recovery Manager 5.x where datastores are mounted with NFS, recovery step 5.1.2 Change Storage to Read-only fails with error:

Error: Cannot unmount datastore 'GenericDatastoreName' from host 'GenericHostName'. Unable to communicate with the remote host, since it is disconnected.

Cause

This problem issue when a host in the cluster has become disconnected from vCenter Server.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, you must determine why the host is disconnected, and re-connect the host.

If the host is not required, or is down for maintenance, remove the host from the cluster.

After you have resolved the disconnected host issue, re-run the Planned Migration in Site Recovery Manager. The operation should complete successfully.

For more information on troubleshooting a disconnected host, see Diagnosing an ESXi/ESX host that is disconnected or not responding in vCenter Server (1003409).
