Data collection fails with error: Error occurred while executing stored proc usp_DeleteHostNic (2043581)

Symptoms

When running a data collection, you see one or more errors related to the stored procedure usp_DeleteHostNic:
 
[1/12/2013 3:04:30 PM] [Error]: DC: <GUID>: inventory: <Machine Name>: <Cluster Name>: Error processing data collection response, StatusID = <GUID>:, exception:
System.ApplicationException: Error Saving 'DynamicOps.VMPS.Model.HostFull' Name '<Cluster Name>' Error occurred while executing stored proc usp_DeleteHostNic The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "HostNic_HostNicToReservation". The conflict occurred in database "DCAC", table "dbo.HostNicToReservation", column 'HostNicID'.

Cause

This issue is caused by a PowerCLI request failing to access the PowerCLI function on the associated DEM.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install a PowerCLI on the DEM in question if it is not already installed.
 
If it is already installed, remove and reinstall PowerCLI on the DEM.
