  • After registering vCenter Server from one SSO to another, you see this error when logging in using the vSphere Web Client:

Login failed due to invalid credentials for one or more vCenter Server systems:https://vCenter_FQDN:443/sdk

Cause

This occurs when the remote server address has been modified incorrectly, which can occur as a result of an improper address when updating the SSL certificates.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, correct the URL for the server in the vCenter Single Sign-On (SSO) database.

To correct the URL in the vCenter Single Sign-On (SSO) database:

Note: Back up the vCenter Single Sign-On (SSO) database before following these steps.

  1. Stop the VMware SSO Service. For more information, see Stopping, starting, or restarting vCenter services (1003895).
  2. Log into the database server which is used by the SSO Server.
  3. As a user with access to the SSO database, Open SQL Management Studio.
  4. Navigate to the LS_SERVICE_ENDPOINTS database table.
  5. Open the table and locate the incorrect entry in the URI field.
  6. Change the entry to show the correct URL for the server. For example, change invalid.domain.com to valid.domain.com.
  7. Close SQL Management Studio.
  8. Start the VMware SSO Service.
  9. Once complete, you can successfully run the ssolscli.cmd commands.
