Collecting diagnostic information for VMware vRealize Operations Manager for Horizon (2043061)

Purpose

VMware Technical Support routinely requests diagnostic information from you when a support request is handled. This diagnostic information contains product specific logs and configuration files from the host on which the product is installed. The information is gathered using a specific script or tool for each product.

This article provides steps to obtain diagnostic information for VMware vRealize Operations Manager for Horizon (formerly known as VMware vCenter Operations Manager for Horizon).

Resolution

To collect the diagnostic information for VMware vRealize Operations Manager for Horizon:
  1. Open a session to your VMware vRealize Operations Manager for Horizon Windows machine.
  2. In Windows Explorer, browse to this location:
    • In Windows 2008 and Windows 7:

      %programdata%\VMware, Inc

      Note: For VMware vRealize Operations for Horizon 1.5, browse to %programdata%\VMware.

      Note
      : For later version of VMware vRealize Operations for Horizon, browse to %programdata%\Vmware\VDM\logs

    • In Windows XP and 2003:

      %appdata%\VMware, Inc

      Note: These are hidden directories. To view these directories, copy and paste the location in the Windows Explorer navigation bar.

  3. Right-click VMware vRealize Operations Manager for Horizon and click Send to > Compressed zipped folder.

    This creates a ZIP file named VMware vCenter Operations Manager for View.zip, which contains the required vRealize Operations Manager for Horizon logs and configuration files.

  4. Upload the ZIP file to VMware. For more information, see Uploading diagnostic information for VMware (1008525).
