Scripts called from DB_and_schema_creation_scripts_dbType.sql are missing in vSphere 5.1 (2039860)

Symptoms

In vCenter Server 5.1, some of the scripts called by DB_and_schema_creation_scripts_dbType.sql are not available.

Resolution

In vSphere 5.1, the following script is no longer used or required and therefore is not available in the software distributions (both .zip and ISO versions): purge_stat1_proc_dbType.sql
Note: In vSphere 5.0 and earlier releases, this script was required to prepare the vCenter Server database for installation
 
However, this script is still listed in the released versions of the DB_and_schema_creation_scripts_ dbType.sql file and in the product documentation. This script should be omitted when performing the outlined steps.

Also, vSphere 5.1 includes these additional scripts:
  • l_stats_rollup3_proc_ dbType.sql
  • l_purge_stat2_proc_ dbType.sql
  • l_purge_stat3_proc_ dbType.sql
  • l_stats_rollup1_proc_ dbType.sql
  • l_stats_rollup2_proc_ dbType.sql
Be sure to run these scripts after completing the process_license_snapshot_dbType.sql script script.
 
Note: Replace dbType with the type of the database being used, such as mssql, oracle, or db2.
