Deleting a View desktop from the View Administrator console fails with the error: Error: Failed to delete VM: null (2039855)
Symptoms
To experience this specific issue, all of the following symptoms need to be present:

Cannot delete a View desktop from the View Administrator console

Deleting a View desktop from the View Administrator console fails

You see the error:
Error: Failed to delete VM: null - You are able to delete View desktops in newly created pools
- In the View Composer logs, you see entries similar to:
FATAL | Sim.ServiceCore.SimServiceApiImpl - Error: fail to execute web service call: DestroySviClones
VMware.Sim.CommonLib.Exception.SimVcSubsystemException: Soap exception connecting to VirtualCenter, url = https://<VC_NAME>.5:443/sdk ---> System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Cannot complete login due to an incorrect user name or password. at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.ReadResponse(SoapClientMessage message, WebResponse response, Stream responseStream, Boolean asyncCall)
- In the vpxd logs on vCenter Server, you see entries similar to:
[09932 error '[SSO]' opID=c557da83] [UserDirectorySso] AcquireToken InvalidCredentialsException: Authentication failed
[09932 error 'authvpxdUser' opID=c557da83] Failed to authenticate user
- Attempting to delete the View desktop from the View Composer server using the sviconfig command also fails

Cause
Resolution
To resolve this issue, perform the steps in the resolution section of Recompose or refresh of linked clone pools fail after upgrade of VMware View (1030996).
