Unregister the previous version of the vSphere Client vCenter Configuration Manager plug-in (2039151)

Details

Before upgrading to a later version of the vSphere Client vCenter Configuration Manager (VCM) plug-in that is available when you upgrade VCM, you must unregister a previous version of the plug-in.

The VCM upgrade removes the previous plug-in files and installs the new plug-in files in new locations with new names. The VCM upgrade does not register the new plug-in with the vSphere Client.

Solution

To unregister the previous version of the vSphere Client VCM plug-in:
  1. On your Collector machine, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\VMware\VCM\Tools\vSphere Client VCM Plug-in\bin.
  2. Click VCVPInstaller.exe.
  3. In the vSphere Client VCM Plug-In Registration dialog box, click Unregister.
  4. In the Server URL text box, enter the name of your vCenter Server.

    For example, https://vcenter05/sdk.

  5. In the Administrator User Name and Password text boxes, enter the Administrator user name and password.
  6. Click OK.
