Performing a data collection in vCloud Automation Center fails with the error: The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint (2038987)

Symptoms

  • Cannot run a data collection in vCloud Automation Center (vCAC)
  • Running a data collection in vCAC fails
  • The Manager service or the Agent logs report this error:

    Error Saving 'DynamicOps.VMPS.Model.HostFull' undefined undefined
Name '<Server Name>' Error occurred while executing stored proc usp_DeleteHostNic
The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint
    "HostNic_HostNicToReservation".

Cause

This issue occurs if a network is removed from your host, but the NIC belongs to a reservation in vCAC. This issue may also occur if your network is not available to all hosts for the same reservation.

Resolution

If you are unable to restore the network connection to your hosts, manually run data collection after deselecting the networks. The issue should resolve automatically after the collection removes the missing networks.
