Support for third-party software development using VMware APIs (2037792)

Purpose

This article provides information about support for third-party software development using VMware APIs.

Resolution

Occasionally, VMware Technical Support receives Support Requests requesting SDK support. As stated in the VMware SDK Support Policy, Technical Support Contracts for VMware vSphere and related products entitle you to installation-only support for vSphere SDKs and CLI tools.

Note: For clarification, no code, script, or API troubleshooting is done by VMware Technical Support.

If you have purchased third-party software, and require assistance for a VMware API that is used by the software, the software company must open a VMware SDK Support case (also known as developer support) or a VMware Partner Support case, rather than a VMware Technical Support case.

The responsibility for managing the case remains with the third-party software company.
