After upgrading from early versions of View Client for Linux, the desktop display size is not remembered (2035823)

Details

In early versions of View Client on Linux systems, after you selected a display size for a View desktop (such as "Small," "Large," "Full Screen"), a global preference setting was recorded. This setting applied to all View desktops accessed from the client.

If you upgrade from one of these early clients to View Client for Linux 1.3 or later, one screen size setting is used, rather than using the new user preferences that allow different display sizes to be remembered for different desktops.

Solution

Either delete the $(HOME)/.vmware/view-preferences file or remove the line that defines the value for view.defaultDesktopSize before installing the new View Client software.
