Stopping a delay task from updating a completed request status VMware Service Manager 9.x (2035542)

Symptoms

In VMware Service Manager 9.x, when a delay task completes in a workflow process, it updates the request status as per the delay task configuration in the related workflow template.

Resolution

To prevent the delay task from updating the request status when it completes, go to Admin > System Administration > Workflow Management > Workflow Management settings and disable the option Set Request Completion Status on Task Closure.

Warning: Completing this action affects all tasks.

Note: There is no way to stop only the delay task from updating the request status. However, a conditional branching task may be used to set the request status (after the delay task) to whatever the previous task is set it to.
