Using existing SSL certificates in PingFederate for Socialcast On Premise Single Sign On (2035372)

Purpose

This article provides information on converting and importing existing SSL certificates for use with Socialcast's Single Sign On (SSO) services.

Resolution

PingFederate has its own set of certificates that can be configured for use with SSO of Socialcast On Premise appliance. To use an existing SSL certificate for use as a Service, Signing, or Encryption certificate in PingFederate, you need to import a PFX-formatted public/private key chain (pkcs12).

To convert an existing PEM-formatted certificate chain, such as the one uploaded via SCMC, to the corresponding pfx file,  use this openssl command:

sudo openssl pkcs12 -export -out certificate.pfx -in /etc/ssl/pem/scmc.pem

Note: PingFederate requires you to provide the export password during import.
