vSphere 5.1 compatibility with VMware View (2035268)

Purpose

VMware vSphere 5.1 now supports VMware View 5.1.x.

Resolution

For VMware vSphere 5.1 to support VMware View 5.1.x, you must download either of these files:

An updated ESXi 5.1 ISO image.

To download the ISO:
1. Navigate to the vSphere Download Center.
2. Click View Download for the VMware ESXi 5.1.0 Installable for your version of ESXi.
3. On the Product Downloads tab, download:
  
  VMware-VMvisor-Installer-201210001-838463.x86_64.iso.
ESXi510-201210001 from the Patch Download Center.

Note: For more information about the patch, see VMware ESXi 5.1, Patch Release ESXi510-201210001 (2034548).

Note: VMware vCenter Server is compatible with View 5.1.x as of version 5.1.0a (build number 880471) and version 5.1.0b (build number Build 947939). Preferably, upgrade your installation of vCenter Server to version 5.1.0b (build number 947939). For more information, see Upgrading from vSphere 5.1 to 5.1.0a with Simple Install (2038472).
