Verifying the Single Sign On flow before activation in Socialcast On Premise (2035253)

Purpose

This article provides information on enabling an SSO/IdP configuration and to test and verify it before enabling the flow in the Socialcast application for all users.

Resolution

The entityId string is used to activate the SSO flow in Socialcast On Premise. This is displayed on the IdP connection setup in the PingFederate dashboard.

SP-initiated SSO via SSO server access

To trigger the SSO flow, open this URL using a browser:

https://your-community-url/sp/startSSO.ping?PartnerIdpId=entityId&TargetResource=https:// your-community-url/sso

This allows you to proceed through the authentication stages and return to the Socialcast community following a successful test. Once verified, it is safe to activate this Partner IdP in the Socialcast application. For instructions on activating the flow in the Socialcast application, see Enable or disable Single Sign-On flow in Socialcast On Premise (2035248).

Impact/Risks

If the SSO flow and/or IdP Entity ID is enabled in Socialcast before the desired functionality is verified, all users of the Web client and mobile and desktop apps will be affected when attempting to log in or request access tokens and may not be able to access any Socialcast features.
