Resetting the vCloud Usage Meter root password (2034008)
Purpose
This article provides steps to reset the vCloud Usage Meter root password.
Resolution
To reset the vCloud Usage Meter root password:
- Start the vCloud Usage Meter appliance.
- At the GRUB boot menu, select the Linux option and press e.
- Select the SUSE kernel.
- Press e again to edit.
- Go to the last line, press space, and then add:
init=/bin/sh
- Press Enter.
- Press b to boot.
- After the system boots, enter this command in the console:
passwd
- Enter the new password and then re-enter the same password to confirm it.
- Reboot the vCloud Usage Meter appliance.
