Cannot Release Mouse Pointer When Command is Running in Command Prompt of a Windows Guest
Details
Using the VirtualCenter console, I connected to a virtual machine that is running a Windows guest operating system. From a command prompt on this Windows guest, I ran a command that produced a long list of data. Now the mouse pointer is locked up. How can I prevent this from happening?
Solution
A Japanese Windows operating system may not let you move the mouse while you run a command such as dir /s in C:\, which displays a long list of information in the command prompt window.
If you need to run a command like this -- one that displays many lines of information to the command prompt window in a short amount of time -- use Microsoft's Terminal Service and Remote Desktop Connection software to connect to the virtual machine.
