Troubleshooting Single Sign On with the vCenter Server Appliance configuration on an external database (2033624)
Details
- An unexpected error has occurred during database operation. Please double check the database configuration.
- Invalid database user or administrator name or password.
Solution
If you receive a database configuration error, perform the following steps.
- Verify that the database configuration is correct.
For configuration information, see vSphere Installation. - Open /var/log/vmware/sso/utils/sso_servicecfg.log and search for the
original error message that the database generated.
The message can provide information such as why you received this error and what you can do to correct it.
If you receive a database user name and password error, perform the following steps.
- Verify that the user name and password are correct, and type them again.
- Verify that the information in other text boxes in the form, particularly
the server and port, is correct.
The Oracle driver might return misleading errors when the configuration includes an external server. - Open /var/log/vmware/sso/utils/sso_servicecfg.log and search for
the original error message that the database generated.
The message can provide information such as why you received this error and what you can do to correct it.
