Managing VMware Workstation in My VMware (2033159)

Purpose

This article provides information about managing VMware Workstation in My VMware.

Resolution

Profile Updating

To complete profile:

  1. Log into My VMware.
  2. Click the arrow next to your name and select Profile:



  3. Click Edit.
  4. Update all appropriate fields.
  5. Click Save.
Important: Do not use PO numbers in any profile fields. Ensure that you enter your complete profile information and the billing address on your profile is same as your credit card billing address. This ensures that the purchase completes in time without any issues.

Purchasing an upgrade

To purchase an upgrade:
  1. Log in to My VMware.
  2. Click Buy > View VMwareStore.
  3. Hover over Upgrades, and select VMware Workstation.
  4. Click Add to Cart.
  5. Expand the account and select the license key.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Select the payment method.

Evaluating VMware Workstation

To evaluate VMware Workstation:
  1. Log in to My VMware
  2. Select My Evaluations from the Quick Links menu.
  3. Click Start an Evaluation.
  4. Click VMware Workstation.

Downloading VMware Workstation

To download products:
  1. Log in to My VMware.
  2. Click Products & Downloads > View All Downloads.
  3. Click VMware Workstation (in the Desktop & End-User Computing menu).
  4. Click View Download.
  5. Select a download binary.

Registering licenses

To register licenses:
  1. Log in to My VMware.
  2. Click Products & Downloads > Register a Product.
  3. Enter your license key(s). You can include up to 50 license keys and register them all at the same time.
  4. Click Continue.

Filing a Support Request

To file a Support Request:

  1. Log in to My VMware.
  2. Click Support > Get Support.
  3. Choose an option from the Technical dropdown.
  4. Choose the correct account from the drop down.
  5. Select the product for which you are filing the Support Request and click Continue.
  6. Provide a problem description.
  7. Review the list of KB articles to determine if they resolve your issue.
  8. If the KB articles do not resolve your issue, click Continue Support Request.
  9. Add any additional notes, if appropriate.
  10. If appropriate, click Add Attachment to add an attachment to your Support Request.
  11. Click Send Request.

Viewing license keys

To view license keys:

  1. Log in to My VMware.
  2. Select License Keys from the Quick Links menu.
  3. If you are associated with multiple accounts, choose the appropriate account from the dropdown at the top of the page.
  4. Select one or more license key folders.
  5. The products contained in those folders display in the right pane. Select a product to view the license keys.
  6. Select a license key to view the license key.

Upgrading license keys

To upgrade licenses:

  1. Log in to My VMware.
  2. Select License Keys from the Quick Links menu.
  3. Select Upgrade License Keys from the I want to dropdown.
  4. Select a license key folder. All products that are eligible for upgrade display.
  5. Select a product, then select the license key.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Select the quantity of licenses you want to upgrade.
  8. Indicate that you have read and understand the warning, then click Confirm.

Downgrading license keys

To downgrade license keys:
  1. Log in to My VMware.
  2. Select License Keys from the Quick Links menu.
  3. Select Downgrade License Keys from the I want to dropdown.
  4. Select a license key folder. All products that are eligible for upgrade display.
  5. Select a product, then select the license key.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Select the quantity of licenses you want to upgrade.
  8. Indicate that you have read and understand the warning, then click Confirm.
