Host Profiles compliance check fails when rebooting hosts with NMP device configuration inconsistently listed in VMware ESXi 5.1.x (2032822)

Details

A reboot of an ESXi host lists the Native Multipathing Plugin (NMP) device information in an arbitrary order. Because the Host Profile compliance checker requires the device order to be sorted, the compliance check fails on hosts with such configuration and results in the following compliance error:

Specification state absent from the host: SATP configuration for device naa.6006016054602a00cec71195d650e011 needs to be updated
Host state doesn't match specification: SATP configuration for device naa.6006016054602a00cec71195d650e011 needs to be updated

Solution

This is a known issue affecting VMware ESXi 5.1.x. Currently, there is no workaround.
