Host Profiles do not save default gateway configuration in vSphere 5.1 (2032817)

Details

In vSphere 5.0 and earlier, host profiles saved the default gateway if the management VMkernel NIC was configured with DHCP.

In vSphere 5.1, the default gateway is no longer saved in the host profile.  If you modify the IP assignment from DHCP to static
IP, the host profile no longer contains the configuration information for the default gateway.

Solution

No solution is available.  However, you can manually assign a value for the default gateway when you change the IP assignment from DHCP to static.
