Understanding security updates for Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems used by vCloud Director (2032622)

Purpose

Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems reports periodic security updates when they become available.

This article provides information on applying the security updates to your Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems, so that it remains as a supported configuration.

Resolution

Applying security patches and security updates to the operating system does not affect the supportability of your vCloud Director. If you have vCloud Director installed on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.6 and there is a security patch released by Red Hat, you can install the patch.

Note: If you experience issues after applying a security update, VMware Support may request you to roll back the update for troubleshooting purposes.
