Changing the vCenter Inventory Service HTTP port from Port 10080 to another port in vCenter Server (2031371)

Purpose

This article provides steps to change the TCP port 10080 used by vCenter Inventory Service HTTP to another port.

Resolution

To change the vCenter Inventory Service HTTP port:
  1. Log in to the machine where the vCenter Server is installed.
  2. Click Start > Run, type services.msc, and click OK.
  3. Right-click vCenter Inventory Service and click Stop.
  4. Open the C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\Inventory Service\lib\server\config\dataservice.properties file using a text editor.
  5. Locate and change the port from 10080 to 10088.
  6. Save and close the file.
  7. Start the vCenter Inventory Service.
