The Manage CMDB Task in Service Manager fails with a Permission Denied error (2031368)

Symptoms

  • Logging a request in the Service Manager Customer portal, which results in creating a new person, fails.
    Service Action triggering a request logged from the Customer portal fails to create a new person.
  • You see this error:

    Permission Denied

  • The Manage CMDB task fails

Resolution

This is known issue affecting VMware Service Manager 9.1.x.
 
A resolution for this issue is being evaluated for inclusion in a future release.
 
Currently, there is no workaround for this issue.
