Accessing Socialcast on mobile devices and smartphones (2030057)

Purpose

This article provides information on accessing Socialcast on smartphones and mobile devices using BlackBerry, Android, or iOS.

Resolution

To use Socialcast on your mobile device or smartphone, ensure that you are using the latest operating system for your device.

To download and use the Socialcast application:
  1. Log in to your community.
  2. Go to https://your-community-url/services.
  3. Click the platform of your mobile device (Blackberry, iPhone, Android).
  4. Download and install the application.

    Blackberry
    1. Visit http://your-community.socialcast.com/m in your Blackberry mobile browser and download the application.
    2. Install the Socialcast application and reboot your device.
    3. After the device restarts, click Socialcast on the home screen to launch the application.
    4. Log in to the application.
    5. Follow the steps in the authorization flow to confirm your identity and link the application to your account.
iPhone
  1. Download the application from the iTunes App Store or directly from the App Store on your iPhone.
  2. Launch the application.
  3. Enter your Community Domain.
  4. Tap the gear icon in the top-left corner of the screen to access the Advanced Settings screen.
  5. Enter your community domain in the field provided and tap the submission arrow button.
  6. Log in to the application.
  7. Follow the steps in the authorization flow to confirm your identity and link the application to your account.

Android
  1. Download and install the application from the Android Market at https://market.android.com/details?id=com.socialcast.
  2. Launch the application.
  3. Enter your Community Domain.
  4. Tap the Settings Gear icon in the top left corner and enter your community domain in the field provided. 
  5. Log in to the application.
  6. Tap the Connect button to begin the login process.
  7. Follow the steps in the authorization flow to confirm your identity and link the application to your account.

Note: The Socialcast application is a free tool for any mobile device or smartphone.
