Third-party async driver updates (2030005)

Symptoms

An ESX/ESXi host becomes unstable

Purpose

This article provides information to help maintain system stability and ensure optimal operation.

Resolution

VMware recommends updating drivers and ESXi/ESX to the latest available version using VMware Update Manager to resolve issues and improve system stability.

The VMware Hardware Compatibility Guide (HCL) does not always report the latest driver version and instead lists the minimum required version. If a newer driver is available, VMware recommends installing the newer version. For more information, see the VMware Compatibility Guide.
