This patch contains security fixes for ESX 4.1. For more information, see the KBs for the individual bulletins.

Before You Install this Patch

To ensure that you have the most complete set of security fixes, VMware strongly recommends that you first upgrade to ESX 4.1 Update 2 and then apply this patch.

For instructions and system requirements, see the Upgrade Guide and ESX 4.1 Patch Management Guide. Also read the ESX 4.1 Update 2 Release Notes for information on the tools you use to upgrade ESX to Update 2 and other tips.

Note:  This upgrade will require rebooting the host and migration or shutdown of virtual machines.

Patch Download and Installation

Download the patch ZIP file from http://support.vmware.com/selfsupport/download/ and install the bulletin using esxupdate from the command line of the host. For more information, see the ESX 4.1 Patch Management Guide. This patch can also be downloaded through online portal using vSphere update manager and patch it on the host.
