When upgrading from Service Manager 8.x to 9.x, the Oracle database reports the error: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows (2018425)

Symptoms

When upgrading from Service Manager 8.x to 9.x, the Oracle database reports the error:

Output: (Query: UPGRADE FORMS TYPED PROC - CIS for System #VSM)
  File: upgrade-repair-data.scp
   Message: ORA-01422: exact fetch returns more than requested number of rows

Cause

This issue occurs if multiple CI Types exist with the same name and all, but one, has been flagged as Deleted because the upgrade does not differentiate between active and deleted CI types.

Resolution

VMware is aware of this issue.
 
A resolution for this issue is being evaluated for inclusion in a future release.
