Does VMware Service Manager support two factor authentication? (2017631)

This article discusses VMware Service Manager and support for two factor authentication.

Steps to enable Integrated Security.
- In VMware Service Manager, navigate to Admin > System Administration > Security > Security Settings.
- Under Integrated Security you may select either one of the following or both:
- Full Application and HTML Only - Select this option to enable VMware Service Manager to automatically take the login details (username and password) from the workstation log in for the main application and the HTML Only interface. This means that the VMware Service Manager login for an officer must match their workstation login. Selecting this option enables Passwords Required for Authorization / Approval.
- Portal - Select this option to enable integrated security on the VMware Service Portal. If this option is cleared, customers must log into the Service Portal manually with their VMware Service Manager username and password.
- Full Application and HTML Only - Select this option to enable VMware Service Manager to automatically take the login details (username and password) from the workstation log in for the main application and the HTML Only interface. This means that the VMware Service Manager login for an officer must match their workstation login. Selecting this option enables Passwords Required for Authorization / Approval.
- On the application server where VMware Service Manager is installed, navigate to Administrative tools > IIS Manager.
- Click Websites > Default Website and select the virtual directory for VMware Service Manager
- Right-click on the virtual directory and choose Properties
- Click the Directory Security tab > click Edit under Authentication and Access Control
- Deselect Enable anonymous access and select Integrated Windows Authentication.
- Click Ok.
