About the My VMware Mobile App
The My VMware Mobile App allows you to view your license keys, contracts, and other information from your iPhone, iPad, Android phone, or Android tablet.
The Mobile App also lets you view your information when not connected to the network (for example, when you are out of wireless coverage or when your device is in airplane mode). Information is synchronized from the My VMware server to the device at regular intervals while the app is running and while the device has wireless coverage.
The My VMware mobile app looks different depending on the device (iPad or Android tablets) or phone (iPhone or Android phone), but the functionality is the same for all devices.
The app is available for iPad and iPhone (OS 4.3 and later) and for Android smartphones and tablets running Android 2.2 and later. It can be downloaded at the Apple App Store for iPad and iPhone devices and the Google Play Store (formerly Android Market) for Android devices. Search for VMware.
Tab Bar
The tab bar is always visible at the bottom of the app and provides quick access to the major functional areas of the app:

Tapping the appropriate icon brings you to these areas:
- My Profile – Displays your account information (name, customer number, email address and phone number) and a list of all accounts with which you are associated.
- View Licenses – Shows the licensed products associated with each account and allows you to view license keys and associated support contracts.
- Users & Access – Allows you to view the folders for each of the accounts with which you are associated, as well as which users have permissions on those folders.
- VMware News – Provides easy access to the VMware blog and Knowledge Base.
Working with different accounts
To select an account, tap the arrow on the right side of the account on the profile screen (this brings you to the View Licenses screen). To change the account:
-
Select a different account from the dropdown on the upper left of the app screen
Or -
Return to the profile screen and tap another account
Multiple accounts and default account
If you are associated with multiple accounts, one account is selected as the default account. The My Profile tab identifies the default account with a default label. Currently there is no way to change the default account from the Mobile App. For more information on changing the default account, see Account Summary in My VMware (2006983).
Sync, Configure, Logout Icons
Three icons are always visible in the top right corner of the app:
-
Sync – tap the sync icon (circular arrows) at any time to refresh your information from the server. The information will be refreshed at regular intervals even you do not tap on the icon.
-
Gear – The gear icon allows you to configure app timeout settings. When the app times out, you prompted to re-enter your password. This prevents anyone else to access your app data.
-
Logout – tap the logout icon to remove all your information from the app. You must log in again to use the Mobile App.
