VirtualCenter Server Service status reports the warning: Performance Statistics rollup from Past xxx to Past xxx is not occurring in the database (2015763)

Symptoms

  • VirtualCenter Server Service Status displays a warning related to performance statistics rollup.
  • You see a warning similar to:

    Performance Statistics rollup from Past xxx to Past xxx is not occurring in the database

Cause

This issue occurs when the statistics collection for one or more Interval Durations are disabled in the vCenter Server settings. The warning is triggered when the rollup jobs for the disabled interval run but, do not produce any results.

To verify on the vSphere Client:

  1. In vCenter Server navigate to Administration > vCenter Server Settings > Statistics.
  2. Under Statistics Interval, check if any of the Interval Duration is disabled (deselected). 
To verify on the vSphere Web Client:
  1. Navigate to the vCenter in the Inventory. Click the Manage Tab > General > Statistics > Statistics Interval.
  2. Under Statistics Interval, check if any of the Interval Duration is disabled (deselected).

Resolution

This is a known issue. This warning does not affect functionality and can be safely ignored. 
 
This issue is resolved in vCenter Server 5.0 Update 2 and vCenter Server 5.1 Update 1. You can download the latest release from VMware Download Center.
