Cannot input non-English characters in View Client for Linux if the language set does not use UTF-8 encoding (2015297)

Details

View Client for Linux is supported in German, French, Korean, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese only if your client system uses UTF-8 encoding. In some Linux distributions, such as Ubuntu, these languages, by default, use UTF-8 encoding. In Ubuntu distributions, you would have issues only if you change from the UTF-8 encoding. If you are using a Linux distribution that uses a legacy encoding, consult the distribution's documentation on how to change the encoding to UTF-8.

Solution

If you configured your client system to use a language encoding other than UTF-8, change the language encoding back to UTF-8.
