Missing licenses in your My VMware account (2014346)

Symptoms

  • License keys are missing from your My VMware account.
  • License keys that have been purchased do not display in your account.
  • You cannot locate license keys.
  • You cannot view license keys.

Resolution

If license keys do not appear in your My VMware account, complete these steps:
  1. Ensure that you are associated with the account that holds the license keys. If you are unsure, contact your Super User or Procurement Contact. For more information, see Super Users and Procurement Contacts in My VMware (2011011).

Note: If you are not associated with the account, you need to be added to see the license keys. For more information, see Adding and removing users in My VMware (2016235).

  2. If you are associated with multiple accounts, ensure that you are working within the correct account. You can switch between accounts in the dropdown at the top of the License Keys page and the Users and Permissions page. For example:

Note: For information on changing the default account, see Account summary in My VMware (2006983).

  3. Confirm that the license keys are associated with the account. If you have View Orders & Support Contracts permissions, you can view the order history for an account. For more information, see Viewing account activities and order history in My VMware (2006979).

  4. License keys for desktop products such as VMware Fusion and VMware Workstation need to be registered. For information on registering the license keys, see Registering a license key in My VMware (2011177).

  5. Ensure that you have View License Keys & User Permission rights for the folder that contains the license key. For more information about permissions, see:

If, after completing these steps, you are unable to locate a license key, file a Support Request. For more information, see Filing a Support Request in My VMware (2006985).
