Expanding an existing virtual disk fails in vCloud Director with the error: Invalid hard disk parameters specified (2013342)

Symptoms

  • When using the vCenter Orchestrator Plug-in for vCloud Director, expanding the size of an existing disk fails
  • You cannot change the size of an existing virtual disk with the vCenter Orchestrator Plug-in for vCloud Director
  • You see this error:

    Invalid hard disk parameters specified. The following parameters are invalid or conflict with other configured devices in the virtual machine: Adapter Type: SCSILSISAS, Bus Number: 0...

Purpose

Resolution

This is a known issue with VMware vCenter Orchestrator 4.2.x. Currently, there is no workaround.
