Using VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager 5.x with IBM Storwize V7000 (2076) 6.4 (2013231)

Symptoms

  • When trying to configure the array manager in the VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager (SRM) 5.x GUI, the logs contain the error:

    SRA command 'discoverDevices' didn't return a response.

Resolution

When SAN Volume Controller version 6.4 was originally released, it was not supported for use with VMware vCenter Site Recovery Manager (SRM). As per IBM, SRM is now fully supported in 6.4.x releases with a new version of the CIMOM.

Note: SRM is fully supported with Storwize V7000 and SAN Volume Controller Version V6.3.
