Cannot change the name of the vCloud Connector 1.5 appliance (2010799)
Symptoms
Cannot change the name of the vCloud Connector 1.5 appliance
When you change the name of the vCloud Connector 1.5 appliance, it reverts to the original name after a reboot of the appliance
For example, the name of the appliance before the reboot is vcc-server01 and the name after the reboot is vccserver18665.
Changes to the vCloud Connector appliance name does not persist across reboots
Resolution
This is an expected behavior.
If an IP address has a DNS entry associated with it, the hostname is set by the DNS name after a reboot. If the IP address is not associated with a DNS entry, the hostname is set to the pattern vccserver#####, where ##### is a system-generated, five digit random number.
To workaround this issue when you do not want to use the system-generated name, create a DNS entry for the appliance.
