Notice of End of Availability and End of Support Life for VMware vCloud Request Manager (2010767)

Purpose

This article provides a transcript of the communication sent by VMware in mid December, 2011 about the End of Availability and End of Support Life for VMware vCloud Request Manager.

Resolution

Dear Valued Customer,

We want to provide you with an important update about the vCloud Request Manager product. As customers continue to expand the use of virtualization and cloud resources, we are focusing on delivering management solutions that can support the flexibility need that enterprises have. As a result of this focus, we have decided not to produce additional releases of vCloud Request Manager. vCloud Request Manager will continue to be supported through July 3, 2012, in line with our General Support Policy located at www.vmware.com/support/policies/lifecycle.

As VMware continues to invest in our customers' journey to cloud computing, we are focusing on delivering a flexible, user friendly service catalog designed to extend the value of enterprise clouds with VMware vCloud Director. Customers require the full and expanded flexibility of VMware Service Manager to personalize the service catalog, automate approvals and services.

As a customer of vCloud Request Manager, we would like to offer you a special opportunity to leverage the scale and security of VMware Service Manager’s cloud provisioning capabilities. Customers who are active on a Support and Subscription (SnS) plan as of December 1, 2011 and active on SnS during the entitlement period in early January 2012 may exchange their existing licenses of vCloud Request manager and upgrade to VMware Service Manager at no additional cost.

When the entitlement to VMware Service Manager arrives in early January 2012, qualified customers will receive an alert in their license portal regarding the upgrade, and support of VMware Service Manager will be based on their current SnS plan.

We value your business and want to ensure there is minimal disruption. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any questions or concerns. For more information, contact your sales representative or www.vmware.com/support.
