Solution

Summaries and Symptoms

This patch adds the following enhancements or addresses the following issues:

  • Oracle (Sun) JRE updated to version 1.5.0_32, which addresses multiple security issues that existed in earlier releases of Oracle (Sun) JRE.

Oracle has documented the CVE identifiers for issues that are addressed in JRE 1.5.0_32 in the Oracle Java SE Critical Patch Update Advisory for October 2011 at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/security/javacpuoct2011-443431.html.

  • When you attempt to connect to ESX 3.5 Patch 26 using an old VMware Infrastructure (VI) Client, you are prompted to upgrade to the latest version of VI client. The VI Client upgrade is mandatory.

NOTE: When upgrading from the old VI Client to VI Client 3.5 Patch 26 in the localized version, an error message might appear. To continue with the upgrade, you must uninstall the old VI Client and reinstall the VI Client 3.5 Patch 26 from VirtualCenter Server 3.5 Patch 26.

Deployment Considerations

None beyond the required patch bundles and reboot information listed in the table.

Patch Download and Installation
