Closure Tasks do not populate the Implementation Profile or State to the parent Request (2008958)

Symptoms

  • When a Closure Task is set with Implementation Profile or State, the parent Request is not updated with these statuses. 
  • You can manually set the Request State and Implementation Profile on the parent Request, but it is not automatically set by the Closure Task.

Purpose

This article provides information on a patch and a workaround for users affected by this issue.

Cause

This issue is caused by the order of Closure Tasks within the query when a Closure Task is launched.

Resolution

This issue is resolved in in VMware Service Manager V9 RP10.
 
Alternatively, to work around this issue:
  1. Set the Closure Task to Implementation and State.
  2. Click Save.
  3. Close the Closure Task.
