IBM Firmware Update Provider Broker (FUPB) with VMware vSphere 5.0 (2008775)

Resolution
Supported hardware and/or software
Installation can be done in one of two ways:
- Load the VMware vSphere 5.0 with IBM Customization Image via the ISO image or via the image available on a USB key, with the providers included.
- Download the separate CIM-provider bundle and then install the providers on vSphere 5.0 via the vSphere CLI.
With the IBM providers, IBM ToolsCenter and IBM Systems Director will be able to manage a system with ESXi 5.0.

Support information
See the IBM common supporting process documents available on the IBM support site. The FUPB provider is integrated into the IBM custom vSphere 5.0 image and installed as part of that image. It is not available separately.
Additional support information
Debugging logs are stored in /tmp/fupbdebug.txt.
Since it is bundled in the IBM custom image, the FUPB provider exclusively supports IBM’s ToolCenter UpdateXpress System Pack Installer.
