vCenter Configuration Manager Agent support on non-english platforms (2008337)
Purpose
This article explains the depencies and limitations present when installing the VMware vCenter Configuration Manager agent on non-English (non-ENU) Windows machines, and when collecting data from those machines.
Resolution
When installing the VMware vCenter Configuration Manager (VCM) agent on, or collecting data from, non-English Windows machines, remember these points:
- On machines where VCM administrators run Web consoles, you might need additional language packs to display the non-Western data that VCM collects from these machines.
- Some non-English machines require non-English versions of Microsoft patches. The only such machines which VCM supports are Spanish, French, and Danish.
- Compliance rules that refer to Services must use the internal names rather than the display names, as the display names might be localized.
