HA and DRS appear disabled when a Storage Profile is enabled or disabled on a cluster (2008203)

Purpose

This article describes a specific issue. If you experience all of the above symptoms, consult the sections below. If you experience some but not all of these symptoms, your issue is not related to this article. Search the Knowledge Base for your symptoms or Open a Support Request.

Resolution

Note: This issue has been resolved in vCenter Server 5.0 Update 1. You also must update the vSphere Client to 5.0 Update 1 before connecting to the vCenter Server.

To work around this issue, re-enable HA and DRS from the cluster settings.

Note: HA and DRS are still functional prior to re-enabling.

To re-enable HA and DRS:

  1. From the vSphere Client, right click the Cluster and select Edit Settings.
  2. Click Cluster Features.
  3. Select Turn On vSphere HA.
  4. Select Turn On vSphere DRS.
