Non-administrator users cannot run the vCenter Converter client installer (2005911)

Symptoms

While logged in as a standard user with limited rights:

You cannot install the vCenter Converter client
You see this error message:

C:\WINDOWS\Installer\ The system cannot find the path specified.

Cause

This occurs because standard users do not have the required write permissions.

Resolution

To install the vCenter Converter client , you must have administrative rights. For more information, see the Known Issues section of the vCenter Converter 5.0 release notes.
