Installing the Microsoft Sysprep Tools (2004013)

Details

The Microsoft System Preparation tool allows you to customize Windows guest operating systems using the vCenter Server Appliance.

Solution

When you download the Microsoft Sysprep Tool from the Microsoft Web site or install it from a CD, to make the files available to the vCenter Server Appliance for guest operating system customization, extract the contents of the .cab file or DEPLOY.CAB file to /etc/vmware-vpx/sysprep. For example, /etc/vmware-vpx/sysprep/2k, /etc/vmware-vpx/sysprep/xp, and so on. The vpxd process must have read permission on the these files.
