Configure vCloud director servers and database to be in the same timezone (2003985)

Symptoms

vCloud director task timeouts and server internal errors, including Quartz-pool-1-thread-xxx Error recording completion of task.

Purpose

All servers in a vCloud Director server group and the vCloud Director database server must be configured to use the same timezone.

Cause

The vCloud Director scheduler assumes that all members of the vCloud Director server group and the database server are in the same timezone. If any of the servers is in a different timezone, the scheduler can fail to correctly schedule tasks.

Resolution

1: Configure all the vCloud Director servers to use the same timezone. See http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux/5/html/Installation_Guide/s1-timezone-x86.html

2: Configure the vCloud Director database server to use the same timezone as the vCloud Director servers that use it. Follow the appropriate procedure for the database server platform.
