NIC-MAC binding is not retained when a NIC is re-added to an Ubuntu 10.10 or later virtual machine (2003882)
Details
If you remove a NIC from a virtual machine and add it again using the Lab Manager GUI, the NIC-MAC address binding and the corresponding IP addresses in the guest operating system do not match the ones listed in Lab Manager.
This issue occurs only on Ubuntu 10.10 and later.
Solution
To resolve this issue, in the Ubuntu virtual machine template, comment the following lines in the /lib/udev/rules.d/75-persistent-net-generator.rules file.
