Installer window is not displayed properly during RHEL 6.1 and CentOS 6.3 guest operating system installation, missing Next button (2003588)

Details

While installing RHEL 6.1 and CentOS 6.3  guest operating system, if you select the Install system with basic video driver option from the welcome screen, the installer window does not display the Next button. This issue occurs because the guest operating system sets the screen resolution to 1280x720 pixels, which is less than the size required by the installer to display the button in the installer window.

Note: This issue occurs on 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.

Solution

Work around the issue as follows:
  1. Select Install system with basic video driver option from the welcome screen.
  2. Press Tab to edit options.
  3. Change the default xdriver=vesa option on the installer window to xdriver=vmware for graphical mode or xdriver=text for text mode installation. Press Enter.
